STRIDE's Mission:
To provide a referral service with comprehensive information
of specialized transportation providers designed to improve
access to communities and to enhance the quality of life
of seniors and persons with disabilities.
About STRIDE:
In February 2001, STRIDE was founded to establish a web-accessible
database of specialized transportation information in San Diego
County by representatives of North County Lifeline,
Inc. ; the Coordinated
Transportation Service Agency (CTSA) ; Del
Mar Community Connections ; Redwood
Senior Homes and Services ; and Vista
Out and About.
Data collected in the fall of 2001 constitute
the core of the STRIDE database.
Aging and Independence Services (AIS) joined the STRIDE Steering
Committee in September 2001 after contracting through the
transportation demonstration project to fund the website
design and implementation.
The development of the STRIDE database and website was supported
by the contribution of technical services from:
- DataSkill, a San Diego-based web systems integrator;
- INFO LINE, the Information & Referral service based at
United Way; and
- InfoTAP, San Diego Technology Assistance Program, A division of Nonprofit Management Solutions.
You are encouraged to visit their websites and learn more about
these organizations.
