What is STRIDE, San Diego?
STRIDE stands for Specialized Transportation Referral & Information for the Disabled & Elderly. It is an online search engine for specialized transportation developed through the collaborative efforts of private and public entities. STRIDE was developed with the rider in mind, but is also a great resource for caregivers, loved ones and providers seeking transportation options within San Diego County. The STRIDE website is managed by Full Access & Coordinated Transportation (FACT), the CTSA for San Diego County.
What do I do if I can’t find a transportation service that can meet my needs on your website?
Provide us with information about your transportation needs using the feedback form and you will receive a response within one to four business days. You can also call FACT at (760) 967-4197. 
Is there a way to print a list of all the transportation services available in the County of San Diego?
A list of programs available by corresponding zip code within the San Diego region is available by downloading the CTSA Referral by Region document.  You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to download this list.
What is the CTSA?
The Consolidated Transportation Services Agency or CTSA, is a public agency that is responsible for consolidating and coordinating transportation services for seniors, people with disabilities and other transportation disadvantaged person. CTSA staff offer technical assistance and public outreach in a professional and friendly manner as a means of increasing awareness of specialized transportation options. Is there a charge for using the STRIDE or CTSA referral services?
No, there is no charge for information or referral. However, some transportation providers do charge for the rides.
Can I get a reduced fare on Public Transit (i.e.: bus, trolley, coaster) for being a senior citizen (60+) or an individual with a disability?

YES.  You will need to first obtain a Senior/Disabled ID Card from your Transit District. 

  • The Metropolitan Transit System (MTS), published an ID Card application brochure. The MTS ID Card application is available online, please click here to download and print.  For more information about MTS's reduced fare and application process, please click here.
  • North County Transit District (NCTD) has applications available from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. at the NCTD main office at 810 Mission Avenue in Oceanside. Forms are also available from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Customer Service windows in Oceanside, Escondido and Vista Transit Centers.  Click here for more information about NCTD's reduced fare and application process.
What is ADA Paratransit?
ADA Paratransit is curb-to-curb accessible transportation service for individuals who are unable to "functionally" use regular public bus, trolley, or Coaster services due to a physical or cognitive impairment. Who do I call to get an application for the ADA Paratransit program?
MTS and NCTD are the two oversight agencies, governing five ADA paratransit service areas within the County of San Diego. Each agency uses their own application form.  For more information about the responsible agency in your area, please use the ADA Service Area Map.
What if I know of a program that is not on your website?
